University of the Punjab and Osaka University Strengthen Academic Ties


A significant meeting took place between Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Learning, University of the Punjab, and Professor and Dean Yoshika YAMAMOTO, Graduate School of Humanities, Osaka University, Japan. The meeting aimed to enhance academic cooperation and foster bilateral relationships between the two institutions.
During the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Kamran highlighted the long-standing history of academic cooperation between Oriental College, University of the Punjab, and Osaka University, with Osaka University students learning Urdu from Oriental College for decades. Dr. So Yamane, Professor of Urdu at Osaka University and an alumnus of the University of the Punjab, was also present.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a commitment to future collaborations in cultural exchange and academic research. Both institutions expressed their willingness to work together, with the University of the Punjab welcoming Osaka University students to learn Urdu.
"We are hopeful for future collaborations and mutual growth," said Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran. "Our faculty is grateful for Professor So Yamane's initiative in promoting bilateral relationships and academic growth between Pakistan and Japan."
The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between the University of the Punjab and Osaka University, paving the way for enhanced cooperation in Oriental learning and research.
